Spiritual Formation + Discipleship
Discipleship past attendance, programming and information transfer. The practices, habits and community that shape lived faith — on Sunday, at work, and in the ordinary weeks in between.
Designing Formation. Building Impact.
I help churches, leaders, schools, nonprofits and mission-driven organizations understand what is actually forming their people — and design the practices, systems, leadership and technology that support the formation they want.

The Question
It is the question underneath everything I do. And the answer is wider than most organizations plan for.
People are formed by more than programs. We are shaped by what we practice and repeat, by what our leaders model and our organizations normalize, and by the systems, tools and relationships we live inside every week.
Formation is happening whether anyone designed it or not. The only question is whether anyone chose it.
The Framework
Three areas of work, one question. Formation sits at the center. The other two are how it actually reaches the floor of an organization.
Discipleship past attendance, programming and information transfer. The practices, habits and community that shape lived faith — on Sunday, at work, and in the ordinary weeks in between.
The formation of the people who lead. Character, practices, decision-making and the culture leaders actually create — because teams are shaped by how leaders operate, not by what the values statement says.

Work With Me
Different ways into the same body of work. Most engagements start with the same step: finding out what is already going on.
01 — Signature engagement
Before you build another program, let's understand what is already forming your people.
The audit looks at what is shaping people right now, not what the strategy document says. You end up with a clear read of your real formation architecture and a short list of what to change first.
Intentionally design the practices, systems and environments that support the formation you want. We build it, prototype it, and name who carries it and how you will know it is working.

Strategy, implementation, workflow design and technology integration — delivered through Unity Research Group, my consulting and delivery arm.
Bring these ideas into churches, organizations, leadership gatherings, classrooms, retreats, conferences and other learning environments.
About
Theologian, strategist, builder. I am a scholar-practitioner — I do the research, and then I build the thing.
I did not invent the title. The Formation Architect gives language to work I had already been doing for years, across theology, spiritual formation, leadership, research, technology and organizational development. For a long time those looked like separate jobs. They were always the same question.
My doctoral research at Fuller Theological Seminary asked how Black Millennial professionals experience holistic discipleship — Sacred Spaces in Secular Places. What kept surfacing was that formation was not confined to the places built for it. It was happening where people actually live and work. That widened the question for me. If formation is happening everywhere, what is doing the forming?
Fifteen-plus years of leadership and consulting later, I keep meeting the same pattern. The calendar forms people. The staffing model forms people. The tools form people. Very few of those were chosen on purpose.
I still serve in church leadership over spiritual formation and assimilation, so this is not something I describe from the outside. And through Unity Research Group, my consulting and delivery arm, I do the AI, automation, innovation and organizational systems work — the building side of the same argument.
I preach, teach, research and write. Three books so far, and an ongoing Substack. The through-line does not change: what forms us, and what are we building as a result?

Where the ideas get worked out in public — essays, frameworks and working notes as they are written.
Essays on formation, discipleship, leadership, AI and the systems that shape organizations. This is where new thinking lands first.
I build tools out of the work I am doing with organizations — the questions behind the Formation Audit, and the inventories I use to see what is shaping a room. They go to the newsletter list first.
The Newsletter
